Anisha joined SDDirect in October 2021 and currently sits in the Inclusive Governance and Climate Portfolio

Anisha has extensive experience within the international development sector, cutting across our technical areas including education, disability inclusion, health, monitoring and evaluation, climate change, gender-based violence and safeguarding. She has country experience in Syria, Nigeria, Ghana, Bangladesh, Uganda, Mozambique, Kenya, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Romania, Sudan, South Sudan, UAE, Philippines and Fiji.

Anisha has worked across many different programmes at SDDirect as a GEDSI expert and researcher, including the Syrian Education Programme II and Partnership for Learning for All in Nigerian Education (PLANE), various Helpdesks such as the HMG Disability inclusive Development Helpdesk, Ending Violence Against Women and Children Helpdesk and the GBV AoR Helpdesk, Ending Violence Against Women and Children Helpdesk and the GBV AoR Helpdesk. Anisha has become a key expert for SDDirect on Disability Inclusion and has recently managed the Disability Helpdesk, working closely with FCDO to deliver high-quality queries. Anisha also managed the Nigeria Gender, Disability and Climate Helpdesk, working with the Kano, Kaduna and Jigawa State Governments to develop bespoke queries specific to their needs. Anisha has delivered a range of high-quality research, including multiple GEDSI Analyses across different sectors and in different countries, GEDSI Factsheets, policy briefs violence and educational, and the safeguarding risks and practices in Eastern Europe.

Anisha achieved a Distinction in her Social Development MA at the University of Sussex, with a specific focus on Gender and Education. She also achieved first class honours in her Integrated Master’s degree in Geography from the University of Birmingham, and studied at the National University of Singapore as part of an exchange year.

In her free time, Anisha enjoys anything active, especially long dog walks with her pup, going to live music events, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
