This guidance was originally developed during the COVID-19 pandemic to support the transition of GBV case management to remote service delivery and has since been updated for broader use across pandemics, epidemics, humanitarian crises, and other emergency contexts.
The revised edition includes expanded guidance on supporting child survivors of sexual abuse through remote modalities, aligned with the second edition of the Caring for Child Survivors of Sexual Abuse Guidelines (CCS). It provides practical considerations for phone-based case management, hotline services, referral pathways, supervision, and staff care, addressing the needs of both adult and child survivors.
