Delivering Excellence In Social Development Consultancy And Research

SDDirect works to build inclusive societies in which all women, men, girls and boys are valued and empowered to make choices about their own development. Our vision of an inclusive society is one that respects and celebrates difference; strives for gender equality; and promotes equal dignity, active citizenship and social justice for everyone – leaving no one behind.

Applying a social inclusion and gender equality lens to everything we do, we undertake analysis and research to understand systemic barriers to inclusion and participation. We are committed to tackling these barriers as well as other institutional, structural and economic drivers of inequality and exclusion – including social norms that exclude people on the basis of sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, race, ethnicity, social origin, migrant status, or religion.

SDDirect aims to expand access for all people to the knowledge, resources, assets and capabilities required:

  • To secure their basic needs, live healthy lives and participate equitably in economic life;
  • To make their voices heard and have influence in decision-making, policy formation and dialogue on public service delivery;
  • To realise their rights and exercise their responsibilities;
  • To secure responsiveness and accountability from governments and other power-holders.

A human rights-based approach is integral to our work, including rights to health, education, economic empowerment, peace, safety and security, and access to justice. We work for a world free of violence against women, girls, poor people and other marginalised groups.
