Implementation Package on RESPECT Women: Preventing Violence against Women
SDDirect is pleased to announce the launch of the implementation package of the RESPECT Women: Preventing Violence against Women Framework. SDDirect was commissioned by UN Women to develop a suite of resources to support with the implementation of the RESPECT Framework, developed by UN Women and the World Health Organisation and endorsed by other UN agencies and bilateral partners.
In line with the RESPECT Framework, the implementation package focuses on intimate partner violence and non-partner sexual violence, whilst drawing out linkages with other forms of violence against women and girls, recognising that many women and girls suffer multiple forms of violence throughout their lifecycle.
Our team of VAWG specialists developed a suite of both online and offline materials aimed at policymakers and practitioners to support national efforts to prevent VAWG, through implementing 7 evidence-based strategies:
- Respectful relationships
- Empowerment of women
- Services provided
- Poverty reduced
- Environments made safe
- Child and adolescent abuse prevented
- Transform attitudes, beliefs and norms.
The materials include user-friendly guidance on how to design, implement, adapt and monitor evidence-based programmes, drawing on the latest evidence as well as practitioner-based knowledge.
The SDDirect team also designed and led a package of regional and country based capacity development workshops, designed to be delivered virtually or face to face, to help policymakers and practitioners to develop national action plans on VAWG prevention.
