Veronica joined SDDirect in March 2019 as a Technical Analyst. In this role, she provides technical support to a range of research, evaluation and programme assignments across SDDirect’s thematic portfolios.
Veronica is passionate about gender equality and inclusive development, and she has a particular interest in participatory approaches to development. Prior to joining SDDirect, she has worked with UNICEF in Mozambique where she focused on participatory research, especially adolescents’ meaningful participation in research. Most recently, she spent one year in Malawi where she carried out a Social Exclusion and Gender Analysis for VSO Malawi. Through these and previous roles, she has developed research and analytical skills that cuts across areas such as Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Gender-based Violence, Inclusive Education and Livelihoods.
She holds a MA in International Development and Management from Lund University, and a BA in Global Studies. During her master studies she spent a field semester in Cambodia where she undertook an internship with The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), where she gained experience in gender mainstreaming in programming. She also conducted research for her master thesis about the inclusion of LGBTI perspectives in Cambodia’s National Action Plan to prevent violence against women and girls. Veronica has also worked and studied in India and Vietnam.
In her spare time, Veronica enjoys outdoor activities and exploring nature through hiking, downhill skiing, mountain biking and scuba diving.
