Administrative and Communications/Research Intern
Tayba joined SDDirect in April 2021 as a Research and Administrative Intern. She is currently providing support to the RSH safeguarding programme, communications strategy, and research.
Tayba recently completed her MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development from SOAS, University of London. She is interested in gender issues particularly the role that women play in peacebuilding processes and water securitization. Her dissertation examined the gendered inequalities women experience in accessing domestic water supply in Karachi. She focused on the violent realities poor women experience as a result of the state’s inaction in regulating water flows.
Prior to joining SDDirect, Tayba worked with several international think tanks and NGOs including the International Crisis Group (ICG), the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), and the Consortium for Street Children (CSC). She carried out varied tasks including research for policy reports in conflict areas, led digital and communications strategy, and organised private roundtable discussions on foreign policy which brought together private sector, government agencies, and international think tanks.
In her free time, Tayba enjoys discovering new cafés and reading.
