I have nearly 20 years’ experience of working in the development sector in Ethiopia. Over this time, I have built my experience and expertise as a leader in capacity development design and delivery for civil society organisations across a range of disciplines. Under the multi-donor Civil Society Support Programme (CSSP 2011-2017) I led the biggest capacity development programme that has ever been provided to Ethiopian civil society, working with 500 CSOs over the six years and managing a team of capacity development specialist.
I am also working in methodologies for reducing violence against women and girls having led a pilot programme for introducing Raising Voice’s SASA! community mobilising approach in Ethiopia in 11 locations. Raising Voices gave me an accreditation to be a trainer and to provide technical advice on SASA! implementation and adaptation. As a result, I have been facilitating SASA! trainings in Ethiopia and other countries.
I am a confident and skilled facilitator, able to design and deliver high quality training across a spectrum of topics and provide customised technical advice to a wide range of organisations, from small-scale community-based organisations to large and complex non-governmental organisations.
I am very good in developing and maintain effective and empowering working relationships in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
Currently, I am working as a freelance consultant working in CSSP2 as Safeguarding Lead and Regional Associate for FCDO funded programme, Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub.
