Rebekah joined Social Development Direct in December 2019 as a Technical Specialist with a particular focus on our Governance, Voice and Accountability Portfolio. Currently, she is a GESI Advisor to the UK Aid Connect-supported Evidence and Collaboration for Inclusive Development (ECID) programme and a researcher with the Strengthening Transparency, Accountability and Responsiveness Programme (STAR-Ghana).
She brings experience on sexual and reproductive health and rights, climate justice and gender equality. Prior to joining SDDirect, she worked at Marie Stopes International on improving clinical governance in SRHR programmes across Africa, Asia and Latin America. She also co-developed the NGO’s response to the climate crisis. Previously, Rebekah was a Junior Project Specialist at the United Nations Development Programme in Switzerland and Ethiopia, supporting the policy and advocacy efforts of a South-South forum of countries to call for more ambitious global climate action in the Paris Agreement and beyond.
Rebekah holds an MA in Gender and International Development from the University of Warwick and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of York.
