Naomi joined SDDirect in September as a Technical Analyst with a particular focus on our Justice, Peace and Security portfolio. Since joining SDDirect she has supported the VAWG helpdesk on a number of queries focused on VAWG in fragile and conflict affected contexts. Her work has also looked at methods of and barriers to increasing women’s participation in peacebuilding efforts.
Prior to joining the SDDirect team, Naomi worked as a researcher in South Sudan on the Girls’ Education South Sudan programme, as a census supervisor on a biometric Government Payroll Census in Lesotho, as a family and support officer in a centre for asylum seekers in Berlin, and as a research assistant at the University of Warwick. She also has an MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development from SOAS, for which she was awarded a distinction.
When she isn’t working, Naomi sings in The Whitehall Choir, paints, and enjoys getting out of London to go for long country walks and pub lunches.
