Hiru joined Social Development Direct as a Programmes Officer in January 2020 and has been working across wide range of thematic areas over 8 different projects, varying sizes and complexity.
She is currently assisting with the financial, contractual, and logistical support on the DFID-funded flagships Safeguarding Resource & Support Hub to Strengthen the International Aid Sector Safeguarding Policy and Practice against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Sexual Harassment (SEAH) and the Disability Inclusion Helpdesk under the Disability Inclusive Development programme.
Hiru is involved in the management of a number of programmes under the Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF), which are funded by Foreign and Commonwealth Office. These projects/programmes include CSSF Global Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL), a 3 year programme with its primary objective is to implement MEL practices across the entire CSSF portfolios; and the CSSF West Africa; a programme that generate and communicate information about the impact of programmes in West Africa to inform the design and prioritisation of future programming. Hiru is also familiar with the programme management systems of other multilateral donors, including the Asian Development Bank.
Prior to joining SDDirect, Hiru worked for a Tax Returned company, as a Financial Administrator/MARCOM Project Coordinator. Hiru holds a Masters Degree in Project Management with PRINCE2 Practitioner certificate and has BSc in Computer Science and Information Technology.
