SDDirect’s approach emphasises the importance of high quality social and political analysis in monitoring and evaluating the contribution of development interventions to poverty reduction and their impacts on different social and economic groups.
We use combinations of methodologies appropriate to the specific context, including participatory, qualitative and quantitative methods, to ensure rigorous results and clear conclusions. We have a particular focus on producing reviews and evaluations that can be used to guide future initiatives, both in terms of feeding into the development of projects and programmes and for the wider dissemination of lessons learned.
We work with governments, development agencies, international organisations and non-government organisations. We have worked in a wide range of settings, from the UK to Central Europe and Central Asia, and particularly widely in Africa and Asia. Undertaking poverty and social impact assessments for private sector clients is an emerging and fast growing area of work for SDDirect.
