SDDirect, through the delivery of the DFID’s Work and Opportunities for Women Helpdesk has launched a new quarterly evidence digest (available here: https://bit.ly/2T9yel1 ). Recent evidence digests cover topics including support to Women’s Economic Empowerment programming on Land, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Market interventions; highlights from a workshop with companies about women’s visibility and influence in global value chains; and updates on WOW engagement with UK retailers.

Previous editions of the WOW Evidence digest and reports are available in the WOW Programme website - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/work-and-opportunities-for-women#resources

What is the WOW Helpdesk?

The Helpdesk service is available to DFID and other HMG Departments’ staff working on international Economic Development policy and programmes across central, regional and country-based locations.

There is no direct charge to DFID or other HMG departments to use the Helpdesk: the cost of the service is covered by the DFID Growth and Resilience Department, through the WOW programme.

All requests for support are screened and prioritised with DFID’s WOW team, based on UK government strategic priorities, urgent needs, and where there is most potential for impact on WEE.
