SDDirect has just begun an exciting new project for the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) to develop an online knowledge module on Working with the Security Sector to End Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG). This will form a part of UNIFEM's Virtual Knowledge Centre to End Violence Against Women and Girls, which brings together good practice case studies, tools and guidance from across the world to provide a key resource for policymakers, programme implementers and practitioners working to address VAWG.

We are specifically on the look-out for information on the following:

  • Programmes that are working with the police/armed forces to end VAWG
  • Policies, strategies, training manuals and other tools being used in these programmes
  • Evaluations or reviews of these programmes which identify where good practice is taking place
  • Innovative examples of working with Civil Society, Men and Boys, Traditional/Faith-based leaders, Women's groups to end VAW
  • Contact details of organisations/experts working in this area

By letting us know of examples of innovative practice, you will have the opportunity to profile your work. For more information please contact us at shreya@sddirect.org.uk
