Case studies >>Gender review of DFID

First published: 0000-00-00

SDDirect supported DFID through a review of their training programmes to address gender equality and its interaction with poverty reduction. Four courses were chosen for review: Induction; Poverty Training; Influencing Skills; and Institutional Development. The review involved three key components. First, course material from the four courses was assessed. Second, participant observation was undertaken on the courses, and followed up by interviews with trainers and trainees. Finally, examples were identified from the courses of "good practice" in the promotion of gender equality and recommendations were provided for strengthening the gender components of DFID's training programmes.
