Project Finance Officer
Anelia joined SDDirect in November 2017 as Project Finance Officer to oversee the implementation of all Tier 1 projects and assist the financial oversight of all Tier 3 programmes.
Her main responsibilities include: maintaining project forecasts and budgets; reporting monthly project variances; supporting the business in organising project related advances; period management and closure; as well as being involved with the optimization of the newly integrated project and financial system, Kimble.
Anelia is a graduate in BSBA in General Management from the City University of Seattle, as well as a postgraduate from the MATRA Training for European Cooperation Scholarship Program in MSc in Public Administration - University of Twente, The Netherlands. Her master thesis represented an empirical analysis on the integration of EU good governance principles in countries in transition and public sector reform.
Anelia’s professional experience includes EU funded projects background, working for the Programme Management Unit of a large programme, subsidized by the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria and voluntary development work in Zambia, which has strengthened further her enthusiasm for donor funded project implementation within the capacity building and development context.
Most of Anelia’s previous roles have encompassed partially or entirely finance-related duties, adding up to about 15 years of experience in the field, including working for the Head office finance team of a large UK provider for community care services.
Among the things Anelia loves doing most in her spare time is going to the theatre, opera and ballet. She loves traveling and thus is really keen on exploring new cultures and religions. Some other activities she enjoys a lot are also: long walks, cycling, yoga and meditation.
