Project Finance Officer
Anelia joined SDDirect in November 2017 as Project Finance Officer to assist on the implementation and financial oversight of projects.
Her main responsibilities include maintaining project forecasts and budgets; reporting monthly project variances; supporting the business in organising project related advances; period management and closure; as well as being involved with the optimization of the newly integrated project and financial system, Kimble.
Anelia is a graduate in General Management from the City University of Seattle. She has a postgraduate from the MATRA Training for European Cooperation Scholarship Program in Public Administration, from University of Twente. Her master thesis focused on an empirical analysis on the integration of EU good governance principle in countries in transition and public-sector reform.
Anelia’s professional experience includes working on EU funded projects and working for the Programme Management Unit on a programme funded by the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. She has also done voluntary development work in Zambia, which strengthened her enthusiasm for donor funded project implementation, within the capacity building and development context.
Most of Anelia’s previous roles have encompassed partially or entirely finance-related duties, compromising 15 years experience in the field. This has included working for the Head office finance team, of a large UK community care services provider.
Among other activities, Anelia enjoys going to the theatre, opera and ballet, long walks, cycling, yoga and meditation. She loves traveling and thus is keen on exploring new cultures and religions.
